Happy Friday the 13th! I hope you're reading this on the brink of a long, holiday weekend. This has been quite the week, friends. It started out on a lovely high note, as my foot was feeling good and I was ready to get back to yoga and spin classes, aaaand started the first day of a new yoga teacher training on Tuesday. This one is sort of a part two of the power yoga teacher training I completed this past summer, and includes a free community class every Sunday that I'll be teaching at my studio.
But then as of Wednesday, WHAM-O. Things changed. I never made it to yoga, or spin, because somehow, I caught the flu.
Ugh, x 100.
I think I'm benched from attending this weekend's training sessions and the community class. Can't really be coughing on people who came to get their zen on, ya know? I also have friends coming into town Sunday, and we had some fun shenanigans planned. TBD how active my participation will be in those.
BUT, life goes on! It's not the end of the world (the flu is pretty minor in the grand scheme of things), and I honestly don't even feel that bad. I'm laying low and pumping the vitamin C/zinc/garlic (I smell awesome), and overall trying not to get anyone else sick. And I get a great reason to eat grape flavored popsicles and soup all day, so that's pretty solid.
While we've got our positive pants on, let's make a quick list of things making us happy today, k? I'll go first:
- the aforemetioned popsicles
- my pup who decided to sleep on the sofa with me last night (even though she did try to push me off a couple of times for coughing too loudly)
- an A+ excuse to wear sweatpants all day
- SUNSHINE and bright, blue skies, after days and days of feeling like I'd been transported to Seattle instead of still living in the Golden State
